Position Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on and highly organized Warehouse Manager to oversee our seed cleaning operations, warehouse, cool storage, and potato grading facilities. This leadership role is vital in ensuring efficient scheduling, inventory control, maintenance, and compliance with safety and quality standards across all areas of our logistics and production infrastructure. The position will work closely with existing office staff and management.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse & Yard Operations:

Manage all daily operations of the warehouse and external yard, including loading/unloading, storage, and dispatch.

Oversee distribution logistics for seed and potato deliveries.

Maintain accurate records of stock levels, batches, and movement using inventory systems.

Ensure pest control and cleanliness protocols are followed to protect seed quality.

Seed Cleaning & Grading Operations:

Supervise seed cleaning staff and machinery, ensuring consistent output and quality control.

Coordinate grading of potatoes and storage preparation to meet market standards and specifications.

Cool Store Management:

Monitor temperature and humidity settings for potato cool rooms.

Manage intake and dispatch scheduling to optimize cool store space and maintain product quality.

Machinery & Maintenance:

Oversee regular servicing and repairs of seed cleaning, grading, and warehouse machinery.

Schedule and document preventative maintenance in line with compliance and safety guidelines.

Staff & Scheduling:

Lead a small operational team including warehouse staff, seed cleaners, and casual workers during peak periods.

Prepare daily and seasonal work schedules to meet production and dispatch timelines.

Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience in warehouse or operations management, preferably in agriculture or seed processing.

Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with seed cleaning or grading equipment.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Practical understanding of inventory systems and scheduling tools.

Forklift license (or willingness to obtain one).

Ability to lead and motivate a small team.

Knowledge of safe work practices and pest control in agricultural storage environments.
