An opportunity has presented itself at the Walkers Arms Hotel & Events Centre.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. You will be dynamic and willing to drive our hard-working team, whilst delivering our high standard of food and presentation.

With various dining and function spaces, you will have a passion for event management, functions and maintaining high standards of exceptional food and service.

The ideal candidate will need a proven track record in a fast-paced, high-volume, multi-faceted environment and possess the following skills:

Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a fast paced and high-volume kitchen

Meticulous attention to detail, professional attitude and a passion for food

A strong work ethic, pride in the quality and consistency of the food you produce

Ability to work under pressure, manage and motivate a team

A strong history of cost control and menu design

Strong A La Carte experience, with the ability to develop seasonal and on-trend menu items that are both creative and profitable

Strong understanding and focus on function operations and delivering on events centre requirements, whilst working in partnership with the Functions and Events Manager

Maintain food safety, WH&S standards, and kitchen compliance

Hire, train, and mentor a motivated and collaborative kitchen team

Trade qualifications in certificate 3 (commercial cookery)

The business is a 7 day a week operation with the successful candidate being able to workdays, nights, weekends and public holidays as required.
