The role offers excellent flexibility with a hybrid arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, based in a convenient Melbourne CBD location. The initial commitment is for 2 months, with potential for extension based on performance.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CFO you will play a key role in supporting year end within a high-performing, close-knit finance team. This respected leader is highly regarded in the industry and has built a strong reputation among those who have worked with them. Known for their collaborative approach, they work closely with all members of the finance team, with a proven track record of developing skills and advancing careers.
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with preparation of year-end financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and review general ledger journals and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as required
- Reconcile key accounts including fixed assets, intercompany balances, and provisions
- Assist in reviewing and improving financial controls and processes

The Successful Candidate
You’ll be a hands-on, detail-oriented financial accountant with experience supporting year-end processes in a fast-paced environment. This role suits someone who enjoys being part of a close-knit team and is looking to contribute meaningfully to a purpose-driven organisation.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience with year-end close, including financial statement preparation and audit support
- Ability to start immediately & commit to an initial 2-month assignment
- CPA/CA qualified would be preferred, however not essential
- Skilled in general ledger accounting, journal preparation, and account reconciliations
- Comfortable working in a regulated or structured environment (e.g. healthcare, manufacturing, or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving abilities
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
