Essential Qualifications & Checks

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience/qualification)

Current Working With Children Check

Food Safety & Handling Certification

Key Skills & Responsibilities

Prepare healthy, balanced meals tailored to children’s developmental and dietary needs

Cater for a wide range of dietary requirements (e.g. allergies, intolerances, religious needs)

Plan rotating menus in line with nutritional guidelines and seasonal availability

Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards

Work efficiently to align meal prep with the service’s daily routine and budget

Contribute to a positive kitchen culture that reflects our values of care, creativity, and sustainability

Nice-to-Haves

Experience in an early childhood or educational setting

Knowledge of cultural food practices and sustainable cooking

A passion for making food fun, inclusive, and educational
