Allied and Community Health Service

Our Allied and Community Health Teams are multi-disciplinary teams who work together towards the common goal of improving health outcomes of our community members. Services are based in Port Augusta and Whyalla, with regular outreach clinics held in Roxby Downs, Quorn, Hawker, Maree and Leigh Creek. We offer a wide range of centre-based, in-home and community-based services to people of all ages and tailor our services to best meet our client needs. About the Role:

Under the direct supervision of the Regional Senior Speech Pathologist/s, the AHP1 Speech Pathologist will contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive and integrated range of health services, appropriate to the needs of the local community. To achieve this, the AHP1 Speech Pathologist works as a member of a multi- professional team, including health professionals and service providers from other sectors, and utilises a combination of preventative, early intervention, treatment/therapy and evaluation approaches.

As an AHP2 Speech Pathologist, you will leverage your advanced clinical experience and specialist knowledge to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive range of services tailored to the unique needs of the local community. With reduced clinical direction, you will take on more autonomy in your practice and may also contribute to the supervision and mentoring of less experienced allied health professionals, assistants, and students. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will collaborate with health professionals and service providers from various sectors, using a combination of preventative care, early intervention, therapy, and evaluation approaches to improve the lives of those you serve.

About You:

  • Must hold a recognised qualification within the Speech Pathology profession and be eligible for full membership of the relevant allied health Professional Association.

AHP1:

  • Provide a broad range of clinical services, selecting and applying well-established methods, procedures, and standards.
  • Exercise professional judgment within prescribed areas, with support from a Clinical Senior to verify methods and results.
  • Deliver straightforward clinical services, including one-on-one, group, and health promotion activities.
  • Manage and prioritise personal workload effectively.

AHP2:

  • Provide professional services to client groups in complex situations, applying both generalist and specialist knowledge.
  • Exercise professional judgment in selecting and adapting established methods and techniques.
  • Offer clinical and consultative services across various settings, including individual, group, and health promotion activities.
  • Manage personal workload and support others in workload management, including resource allocation.
