St Michael’s Primary School is a Catholic primary school located in Traralgon with a current enrolment of 463 students. The School was officially opened in 1902 and is one of two primary schools in St Michael’s Parish.

Traralgon is a town located in the east of the Latrobe Valley in the Gippsland region of Victoria, 164 kilometres east of Melbourne’s CBD, on the traditional lands of the Gunaikurnai People. Traralgon is accessible directly from the M1 freeway with extensive public transport. St Michael’s Primary School, Traralgon is seeking a faith filled, inspirational and dynamic Deputy Principal to work in partnership with our staff, student and parent community. The role of the primary deputy principal is to support the principal and leadership team in managing the planning, delivery, evaluation and improvement of the education of all students at St Michael’s Primary School. The role involves working closely with the principal in enacting the strategic directions of DOSCEL and the deployment of resources, which reflect the following key priorities:

• Enlivening faith education and Catholic identity

• Improved learning outcomes for all students

• Strengthening and development of expert teacher practice, leadership formation and capacity building

• Ongoing commitment to effective and supportive governance.

We are seeking a suitably qualified applicant with a proven record of leadership, who aspires to principalship. The Deputy Principal position will initially be offered on a fixed-term basis of three years, with opportunity for renewal. The successful applicant will be offered ongoing employment at the school as a teacher.

Salary: $144,670 - $148,762
