We are looking for two Clinical Psychologist or Accredited Mental Health Clinicians for our clinic in Springfield.

ABOUT US:
Australian Veteran Health Services (AVHS) is a unique, multi-disciplinary medical service supporting former and current Defence personnel as they transition to civilian life. Established by Veterans for Veterans, we work collaboratively with established medical and ex-service organisations to provide DVA claims support, Permanent Impairment Assessments, Veteran Review Board (VRB) reports, and ADF Transition Medicals.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITIES:
Due to continued growth and increasing demand for our services, we have two opportunities:
Wellbeing Clinical Lead - In this pivotal role, you will lead and support a team of Wellbeing Clinicians delivering high-quality, evidence-based mental health services to veterans. Balancing leadership with a small clinical caseload, you will play a vital role in maintaining frontline care expertise and supporting the professional development of your team.
Wellbeing Clinician - The role is responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based assessment and short-term therapy to Australian veterans through in-person consultations, telehealth services and clinical case management. The role combines clinical practice, professional collaboration, and active engagement with the veteran community to ensure holistic and client-centered care.
ABOUT YOU:
As a dedicated and dynamic Registered Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker you will possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with strong report and assessment writing abilities who can navigate legislative and business requirements with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments and reports to support DVA claims.
Deliver evidence-based short term psychological interventions, assessment and therapeutic support tailored to veterans’ needs, ensuring alignment with DVA guidelines.
Provide veteran-centered care during the DVA assessment process.
Support ADF members to link into external psychologists for ongoing support when required.
Participate in team meetings and case conferences.
Collaborate within a dynamic multidisciplinary team.
Engage in professional development and learning opportunities.
Uphold the practice's reputation for excellence in veteran care.
Selection Criteria
A degree in Psychology or Mental Health Social Work (essential)
Clinical Psychologists highly regarded and will attract a higher remuneration rate (commensurate with skills and experience)
Ability to comprehensively and accurately complete complex patient assessments and reports capturing critical details (essential)
Extensive experience in mental health care, including advanced assessment and intervention skills. (essential)
Capacity to work independently with minimal direction and collaboratively in a team environment (essential)
Strong interpersonal and communications skills (essential)
Ability to accurately assess and classify mental health disorders as outlined in the DSM-5 (essential)
Clinical Lead additional requirements - Proven history supervising and leading teams, acting as the primary escalation point for complex clinical cases. Conduct regular performance monitoring with the ability to build a resilient and collaborative culture.
Desirable:
Experience in veteran mental health or military-related services.
Understanding of military culture, transition challenges, and service-related mental health conditions.
