The Role

Are you ready to be at the heart of Australia's renewable energy revolution? We're seeking a Senior Grid Connection Engineer who will drive the technical excellence behind connecting large-scale renewable projects to the national grid.

In this pivotal role, you'll be the technical architect ensuring seamless integration of renewable energy systems into Australia's power infrastructure. You'll lead complex grid connection studies, navigate regulatory frameworks, and collaborate with industry heavyweights including AEMO, TNSPs, and DNSPs.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive Generator Performance Standard assessments and grid connection feasibility studies
• Leading technical analysis using industry-standard software (PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT)
• Managing stakeholder relationships across the entire project lifecycle
• Negotiating GPS requirements and test plans with clients and regulatory bodies
• Providing technical leadership on projects exceeding 100MW capacity
• Driving continuous improvement in grid connection processes

Your Background and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Proven experience with large-scale utility grid-connected renewable projects
• Advanced proficiency in power system analysis software (PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT)
• Deep understanding of Australian grid connection regulations, AEMO procedures, and NER rules
• Demonstrated experience with connection agreements, GPS studies, and R1 & R2 testing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Bonus points for:

• CPEng and REPQ accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience in connection agreement negotiations
• Background in substation design or resources industry projects
