An opportunity has emerged for 2 experienced RF Engineers to join a specialist defence technology company developing advanced counter-UAS and electronic warfare solutions. This role focuses on the development of portable, mobile and fixed RF jamming systems designed to neutralise unmanned aerial threats.
The successful candidate will take ownership of a key disruptor capability, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams spanning machine learning, data science, RF, and systems integration. The position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-evolving technical domain and wants to make a tangible impact in a rapidly growing global industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop RF jamming systems targeting hostile drone communications.
- Integrate jamming capabilities across different platforms — from handheld units to vehicle-mounted and stationary systems.
- Continuously adapt systems to counter evolving drone technologies and signal protocols.
- Optimise performance by resolving interference, boosting signal clarity, and extending jamming range.
- Conduct live field testing to validate system effectiveness in real-world environments.
- Work closely with hardware, software, and systems teams to embed RF considerations from early-stage design.
- Remain across the latest developments in RF engineering and counter-UAS technologies.
- Interpret and apply technical specifications related to communications protocols and waveforms.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in RF systems, communications protocols, or DSP — defence or counter-UAS backgrounds highly regarded. Advanced hobbyist work will also be considered.
- Strong grounding in modulation, demodulation, signal propagation and RF system design.
- Proficiency in protocols and modulation schemes such as Wi-Fi, LTE, FHSS, FSK, and QAM.
- Familiarity with multi-antenna systems (e.g., MIMO, beamforming) and ranging technologies.
- Solid knowledge of DSP principles and practical use of lab equipment (spectrum analysers, signal generators, VNAs, oscilloscopes, etc).
Highly Desirable
- Exposure to electronic warfare systems or counter-drone technologies.
- Understanding of how machine learning applies to RF sensing.
- Programming ability in Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar for RF simulation or signal analysis.
This is a rare chance to join a highly technical environment with a direct mission impact. The company is known for pioneering innovation in RF disruption and offers long-term career growth in one of the most exciting segments of the defence-tech space.
