About Us

We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join our team at the Menzies Anxiety Centre in Five Dock.

The Menzies Anxiety Centre was established to meet the growing demand for treatment for death anxiety (i.e., a fear of death or dying). We are uniquely placed to offer psychological assessment and treatment to the growing number of clients seeking support for death anxiety and related conditions (e.g., OCD, health anxiety, specific phobias). In addition to our focus on anxiety, we also offer general mental health services for other conditions, and receive a steady stream of varied referrals.

We are currently seeking a Clinical Psychologist who is interested in death anxiety and existential issues, in addition to anxiety-related disorders.

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, dedicated, and able to work independently.

We are seeking a candidate who is available 2 to 4 days a week as a contractor, depending on their preferred number of days. We are particularly looking for a psychologist who is available to work on Saturdays. Saturday appointments are in high demand, and we offer a higher consultation fee for weekend sessions.

Some flexible working hours are available, with consulting rooms available in the morning, afternoon, or for the full day.

The start date is flexible. There is also an option for a graded start, beginning with just 1-2 days, with plans to extend to 2 or 3.

Essential criteria

Registration with AHPRA as a clinical psychologist

Completed either a Master or Doctorate of Clinical Psychology

Registered Medicare provider (or eligible to apply)

Strong grounding in evidence-based practice, including competence with using CBT to address mood and anxiety-related disorders

Interest in death anxiety and existential issues

Desirable criteria

Previous experience working independently in a private practice setting

Availability to work on Saturdays
