About the role:

It's an exciting time to join a nonbank loans business in Australia with ambitious growth plans across the coming years.

The Data Engineer will monitor data processing efficiency and propose solutions for improvements as well as identifying and investigating potential data quality issues and explore ways to improve data quality and reliability.

The Data Engineer will support stakeholders in defining and rolling out the data warehouse, architecture & platforms which will infuse data through business intelligence and analytics.

The role:

• Decommission Azure Data Warehouse with full investment in AWS
• Have strong experience of big data ecosystems and frameworks
• Responsible for integrating new data source technologies, into existing structures,
• Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation
• Coaching junior team members on Data Warehouse/Engineering best practises

Your Experience:

• Demonstrable experience working across SQL, ETL, Data Modelling
• Exposure to Cloud technologies (AWS/Azure)
• You will be heavily working on AWS (EMR, Redshift, S3, Step Functions) & dbt
• Understanding of and experience in data migrations to cloud platforms
• PowerBI or other BI reporting experience desired

Based in Sydney, with 3-4 days on site in CBD for first 6 months until you pass probation.

This position requires Australian Permanent Residency/Citizenship.
