About the opportunity:
Gym instructors play a key role role in the ACU Active team, by providing exercise advice and instruction on the safe operation of ACU Active equipment to members, underpinned by high level customer service and engagement.
ACU Active is looking to add gym instructors to its current team of dynamic, highly motivated casual staff who are interested in applying their knowledge and are committed to learning new approaches to sport, health and wellbeing. The successful candidates will be available for a variety of shifts throughout the hours of operation between 8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
Provision of core services to members, including screenings, physical assessments and designing individual and group fitness programs in accordance with ACU Active policies and procedures
Proactive and diligent supervision of the gym floor and assist with operational needs such as welcoming new members, providing training advice, technique correction, cleaning of equipment, adhering to state OH&S and WHS regulations and generating feedback
Assisting in the development, implementation and review of member engagement programs and services.
Providing social media content to engage, motivate and educate existing ACU Active members and non-members, particularly the female student cohort
Providing a high level of customer service and communication with existing and prospective members including the provision feedback, motivation and maintaining a happy and encouraging environment
Promoting a positive image of ACU Active through professional standards of workplace and personal presentation and the efficient and effective completion of work tasks, lessons and programs
You will need to have:
Progress or completion of a Bachelor Degree in Exercise / Sport Science
Sound knowledge and technical skills in prescribing and supervising one on one and group exercise
Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to professionally liaise with peers, colleagues and clients at all levels
A demonstrated commitment to providing high levels of engagement and customer service
Current First Aid and CPR certificate
