About the role
Join us as a Delivery Manager and lead the successful execution of a high-risk, complex, and high-value infrastructure project that will shape our community’s future. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Public Transport Authority’s High Capacity Signalling Project, a major transport infrastructure project, is delivered to meet project objectives, organisational goals, and stakeholder expectations. Your expertise in engineering design, project planning, and stakeholder engagement will drive the development of effective working relationships with industry leaders, public sector agencies, and community members. From overseeing contract awards and managing budgets to identifying risks and resolving issues, your leadership will enhance the delivery of the HCS project and inspire continuous improvement.
We are seeking an innovative leader who excels in project management and contract delivery, capable of managing all facets of railway command and control systems, including train control, signalling systems and associated civil works, and electrical and telecommunication works. You will also have an excellent understanding of railway operations and the technical interfaces of the railway command and control system. You will champion best-practice project management and promote flexible, sustainable contract arrangements. Your role also includes fostering strategic partnerships, representing the organisation on external and internal committees, and ensuring the integration of state-wide project and contract policies. About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
Relevant tertiary qualification or extensive experience in delivering railway command and control systems projects, including project and contract management, with substantial knowledge of stakeholder engagement in complex, high-value projects.
Highly developed leadership and management skills, with the ability to engage, mentor, and effectively manage project teams and resources to achieve outcomes.
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, enabling effective investigation, reporting, and response preparation for ministerial and parliamentary queries.
Advanced conceptual and analytical skills, with the capability to analyse information and data, generate insights, and produce detailed reports.

This is a fixed term opportunity for 60 months, available for an immediate start with the possibility of renewals and/or permanency. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies on a fixed term or permanent basis that may arise within the next 12 months.
