Are you a results-driven leader with a background in fabrication and project management?
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Workshop & Project Manager to lead our workshop team and manage complex industrial projects from concept to completion.
About the Role
As Workshop & Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of allocated projects—on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll take ownership of the entire project lifecycle while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our fabrication facility.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with a background in engineering or fabrication, strong planning and communication skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the workshop team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality fabrication.
Drive project outcomes with effective planning, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination.
Monitor labour, production efficiency, and cost performance to meet project KPIs (DIFOTOB).
Maintain clear, open communication with internal teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
Ensure compliance with the Groups procedures, quality control, and safety standards.
Prepare project reports, documentation, and manage subcontractor performance.
Identify and implement opportunities to reduce time and cost across projects.
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications: TAFE certificate or higher in engineering, fabrication, or related field.
Experience:
Proven leadership in a fabrication workshop environment
Strong understanding of 2D CAD and technical drawings
Successful project scheduling and delivery experience
Skills:
Excellent time management and multitasking ability
High attention to detail and organisational skills
Solid MS Office proficiency, especially Excel
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Physical Requirements
This role is classified as Medium Physical Demand — occasional lifting up to 15kg is required.
