The Maths Learning Leader is a pivotal role within our Leadership team, responsible for driving academic excellence and fostering a robust learning environment for students in the field of mathematics. This position demands a visionary leader who can inspire both educators and students while developing and implementing comprehensive mathematics curricula that meet the diverse needs of learners.
In this role you will collaborate with teachers, administration, and educational stakeholders to enhance teaching methodologies, assess students' learning progress, and ensure alignment with national standards in mathematics education. You will also oversee professional development initiatives, equipping educators with innovative teaching strategies and resources that promote student engagement and achievement. Strong analytical skills, alongside effective communication and leadership capabilities, are essential, as is a genuine passion for mathematics education and student success. As Maths Learning Leader you will play a vital role in shaping the academic experience of students and contributing to the overall mission of the institution to cultivate a culture of excellence, inquiry, and lifelong learning.
Qualification and Requirements:
Degree qualification in Education, Mathematics, or related field.
Current teaching qualifications and VIT registration
Proven experience in teaching Maths at secondary level.
Demonstrated ability to engage students with a lively, adaptive and effective teaching style.
Strong understanding of differentiated instruction techniques to cater to diverse learning styles
Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.
Demonstrated drive, passion, a positive attitude, and proactive approach towards your work, understanding the importance of emotional intelligence and empathy in building trust and a positive learning community across the College.
Sound knowledge of current and educational trends, issues, policies, and directions.
Excellent organisational skills, planning, analytical and data mining capabilities.
Demonstrated capacity to be a resourceful leader and team member who can operate in a mentoring, collaborative and inclusive manner.
