Job Description:
We are hiring! Gold Coast Disability and Youth is seeking Disability Support Workers to join our team. This role involves mentoring clients, supporting their independence, and facilitating group programs. Candidates should be passionate about assisting individuals with disabilities and possess excellent communication skills.
Permanent role up to 40 hours a week with Pro-Rata salary with entitlements paid on top. (Super, Q leave, Sick leave, Personal leave, Kilometres, Overnight sleep, etc). Continuous support to grow and further develop your career.
Responsibilities:
Mentor clients to encourage independence in employment and training goals.
Achieve positive outcomes for clients.
Empower clients to succeed through various pathways.
Support clients' personal growth and development.
Optimise work experience opportunities for clients.
Maintain documentation of service provision and reporting.
Develop and implement capacity building, job readiness, and work experience support.
Assist with group programs, including content generation and facilitation.
Accurate and detailed reporting to the office in order to facilitate communication with other stakeholders (child safety / support coordinators).
Requirements:
Ability to plan and prepare for client issues.
Ability to follow a set roster and commit to constant hours.
Be willing to work at least 1 Sleepover shift a week
NDIS Working Screening Check.
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain).
Current Blue & Yellow card (or ability to obtain)
Driver's license and own car.
