Role Overview
We are seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Engineer to support brownfield mining projects within a well-established WA-based engineering team. This role is hands-on and offers opportunities to lead technical scopes, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to multiple concurrent projects. You will be based in the Perth office with flexibility for hybrid work after onboarding.

Key Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in electrical design for brownfield mining or heavy industrial projects
• Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards and site compliance requirements
• Proficiency in power system studies using PowerFactory or PTW (highly desirable)
• Familiarity with CDEGS for earthing, lightning protection, and step/touch calculations
• Experience delivering scopes across HV/LV design, protection, instrumentation, and control
• Comfortable working across all phases of project lifecycle including commissioning and shutdowns
• Functional Safety TUV Certification and/or Hazardous Area Accreditation (advantageous)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and compliant electrical engineering services in line with client and statutory requirements
• Lead the preparation and review of design deliverables including SLDs, schematics, specifications, and SoWs
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior engineers
• Conduct electrical studies, equipment selection, and power system analysis
• Lead or contribute to HAZOPs, design reviews, and Safety in Design workshops
• Coordinate closely with other disciplines, contractors, and site teams
• Assist in preparing estimates, schedules, and input into construction and commissioning planning
• Support QA processes and ensure documentation aligns with internal engineering systems
