The Position

Joining as the newest member of this close-knit team, this position will involve driving an HR flatbed truck in the Newcastle Timber Trading fleet.

Each day typically involves 2-3 local runs around the Newcastle area delivering timber supplies to local hardware retailers, timber merchants and building sites. You will load and sometimes unload your truck (at some building sites), so experience in the use of a truck mounted crane would be an advantage. At the timber yard you may also load with a forklift, so a current forklift licence would also be useful, although it is not essential.

Some days will involve longer runs to regional areas such as Taree, Tamworth and Woy Woy.

This is a full-time, permanent role with the security of a successful family business which operates across 4 states and has been setting the standard for timber supply for 50 years. The work is Monday-Friday, with no weekend work, and the role means you will finish at a reasonable hour each afternoon (a typical day is 7am to 3:30-5pm)

This is an autonomous role in which you load, deliver and unload packed timber which is bulky and heavy, so some experience of working with similar freight would be highly advantageous.
