About the Role
You’ll represent young people in the Youth Justice Court and Supreme Court, working with dedicated senior staff, client service officers, and legal support teams. This role involves:
- Court advocacy for youth matters (with senior guidance)
- Providing culturally appropriate legal advice
- Circuit court travel to remote communities
- Contributing to law reform and systemic advocacy
- It’s challenging. It’s rewarding. And it’s where real change happens.
Who We’re Looking For
We want emerging legal professionals who are:
- Legally qualified (or eligible for NT admission)
- Keen on criminal law, especially youth justice
- Culturally aware and sensitive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Strong communicators, both in court and across cultures
- Organised and adaptable under pressure
- Willing to travel to remote communities
- Team players who seek advice and grow through collaboration
You’ll Need:
- NT Driver’s Licence
- Ability to obtain a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
- Clean criminal history check
