About the role
Care Connector is looking for passionate Disability Support Workers and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to join our team on a casual basis. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals living with a disability. The role will be based in Southport, QLD 4215, with flexible work arrangements available.
What you'll be doing
Providing personalised care and support to clients living with a disability, to help them maintain their independence and quality of life
Assisting with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping
Facilitating social and recreational activities to enhance the wellbeing and community inclusion of clients
Collaborating with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement tailored support plans
Maintaining accurate records and documentation to ensure the highest standards of care
What we're looking for
Experience supporting clients with complex needs and behavioural support
Experienced providing hoist transfers (manual and electric)
A genuine passion for supporting individuals living with a disability
Relevant qualifications in Disability Support, Community Services, or a related field (or willingness to obtain them)
Experience in providing person-centred care and support, preferably in a disability or aged care setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and empathise with clients
A positive, patient, and flexible approach to work
A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must hold (or be willing to obtain):
National Police Check
Yellow Card/National Disability Worker Screening Clearance
NDIS Worker Orientation Module Completion
Manual Handling Certificate
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
Valid Driver’s Licence (ability to drive client’s vehicle)
Comprehensive Car Insurance
Cert III or Cert IV in Aged Care/Individual Support or Nursing studies with paid experience
