Salary: ($157,690 to $184,761) plus 15.4% superannuation

We are looking for a talented and high performing Company Secretary to support our Board achieve their functions and duties.
Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) is a leading finance provider for Indigenous Australians. We assist Indigenous Australians in owning their homes, growing their business, and partner and invest with First Nation communities.
IBA is a statutory authority of the Australian Government and is accountable to the Parliament and the Minister for Indigenous Australians. The IBA Board is made up of eminent Indigenous and non-Indigenous members who are appointed by, and accountable to, the Minister for Indigenous Australians.
About the role
The Company Secretary role is responsible for ensuring IBA adheres to the highest standards of corporate governance. This role involves overseeing compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies and ensuring that the IBA board of directors and board subcommittees operate effectively and efficiently to support the achievement of IBA’s strategic objectives. The role reports to the General Counsel.
What you’ll bring
· Extensive experience in corporate or public sector corporate governance, risk management, and compliance, preferably including experience in a governance leadership role
· A strong understanding of the public sector governance framework and regulatory environment
· Experience engaging with, presenting to, and writing reports for, Boards.
· Highly-developed oral and written communication skills
Cultural Capability
· Awareness and understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander societies and culture.
· Ability to liaise and communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.

Qualifications
· Professional qualifications in law, business, accounting and/or those offered by the Governance Institute of Australia and Australian Institute of Company Directors
