About the team
The Workplace Health and Safety team is part of the People, Culture and Wellbeing division. The team is responsible for supporting a safe and healthy work environment through the delivery of injury management, return to work, WorkCover coordination, and broader occupational health and safety services. The team works collaboratively with managers and employees to ensure compliance with legislative obligations and to promote wellbeing across the workforce.
About the role
As an Workplace Health and Safety Support Officer you will provide essential administrative support to the Return to Work and Workplace Health and Safety functions. You will play a key role in coordinating injury management documentation, supporting payroll processes for WorkCover claims, and maintaining data and systems that enable the efficient and compliant delivery of WHS services.
A regular day will see you:
- Responding to Return to Work and WorkCover enquiries and maintaining accurate claims records
- Coordinating injury-related payroll processing and liaising with the Payroll team
- Assisting with WHS reporting, training records and document updates
- Supporting the WHS team with general administration and system maintenance
About you
You are a motivated and organised professional who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment. You take pride in delivering high-quality administrative support, communicate clearly, and approach your work with a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
You'll bring with you:
- Proven experience in administrative support, payroll, or WorkCover-related roles
- High-level organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A high degree of numerical accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling financial or payroll data
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
