MAYDAY Healthcare
Posted 10 days ago
Mayday Healthcare is partnering with a ground-breaking harm reduction service in Sydney CBD to recruit Registered Nurses for a truly meaningful opportunity.
This is your chance to step outside traditional clinical roles and be part of an innovative approach to community healthcare.
You'll be working at a specialised facility within the community that supports some of the most marginalised members of the community. This is more than a job. It’s a chance to be on the frontline of progressive public health.
Why This Role?
Because here, what you do literally saves lives. This service reduces the risk of overdose, improves community safety, and helps connect people to health and social services they might otherwise never access.
As part of a small, highly-skilled, and mission-driven team, you'll contribute to creating a safer and more compassionate environment for people who use drugs.
The Role
We are seeking Registered Nurses for an ongoing block of temporary shifts for the next 2 months. (June & July)
Shifts operate Monday to Friday, either 9:30am–6:00pm or 1:30pm–10:00pm.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where clinical judgement, calm decision-making, and empathy are critical.
Who You Are
You’re AHPRA-registered as a Nurse, with 2+ years’ post-graduate experience
You bring experience from alcohol and other drugs, mental health, or emergency care
You’re passionate about harm reduction and committed to treating all individuals with dignity
You understand the complexities faced by people who inject drugs, including their legal, health and social challenges
You’re confident in emergency response.
You thrive in collaborative teams and can document clinical interactions with accuracy and care
What You’ll Be Doing
Providing medical supervision and intervention to reduce drug-related harm
Engaging with clients to build trust and encourage access to broader health and support services
Supporting a non-judgemental, inclusive space that prioritises safety, respect and dignity
Contributing to a service that’s proven to reduce overdose deaths and improve outcomes for people who use drugs
Why Work With Us?
Through Mayday Healthcare, you’ll have the opportunity to work in one of the most progressive public health settings in the country. You'll be surrounded by likeminded professionals who value equity, compassion and evidence-based care. This is a role where your skills, values, and humanity truly align.
