About Us

At Emble Allied Health, we’re more than a clinic; we’re a vibrant community dedicated to empowering children and families. Nestled within the North-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne (in Mill Park), our integrated approach brings together a comprehensive array of services, including:

Speech Pathology

Occupational Therapy

Key Working

Psychology

Music Therapy

Art Therapy

Feeding Therapy

Dietetics

We’re firm believers that enriching the lives of the children and their families we serve goes beyond the confines of the clinic room; it extends deep into the heart of the community.

This is why we offer comprehensive education and training programs, parent support programs, group therapy sessions, and much more.

What gets us out of bed in the morning?
Our Vision

Our vision is “empowered people, connected communities; limitless opportunities”.

Our Mission

Our mission is to “embrace diversity, empower the community and enrich the daily lives of children and families through the delivery of meaningful, individualised and evidence-based services and supports.”

About the Role

We have an opportunity for a graduate, early career or experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team on a full-time basis (ongoing, permanent).

As part of the role, you will be responsible for:

Implementing evidence-based occupational therapy intervention to clients aged between 2-18 years of age within the clinical setting or in the community.

Conducting screenings and assessments (both, formal and informal) to evaluate and measure the client’s fine/gross motor, play, self-care and sensory and emotional regulation capabilities.

Contributing to capacity building interventions by supporting clients and their carers/educators in generalising new skills into natural settings such as in their home or in the classroom through coaching, training and modelling effective strategies.

Keeping detailed records relating to client conditions, care plans, therapies, and progress.

Reporting progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.

Applicants interested in a part-time position will also be considered.

What we're looking for

Are you a creative and innovative Occupational Therapist with a passion for family-centred practice? Do you thrive on delivering evidence-based therapy programs that seamlessly integrate into the daily routines and lives of children, young people and their families? If so, we want you to join our dynamic team!

We are seeking a motivated Occupational Therapist who is not only dedicated to providing exceptional care but is also eager to grow with our values-driven team. If you're an OT who is enthusiastic about making a difference and looking to grow in a supportive, innovative environment, we would love to hear from you!

What we offer

New Graduate Learning Program

Our New Graduate Program, led by our experienced senior Therapists and Team Leaders, offers structured learning and professional development opportunities.

Our New Graduate team is supported to thrive in their roles through:

Weekly group supervision: We provide a comprehensive structured learning program designed to empower our new graduate team members with the knowledge and skills they need to feel confident in their role.

One-on-one supervision: We offer weekly supervision sessions with your dedicated Team Leader, where you can discuss both your wellbeing and clinical progress.

Shadowing opportunities: During your initial six months with us, our senior Therapists will dedicate time to shadow and support you in therapy sessions. You also have the opportunity to observe other Therapist’s sessions from your own and other disciplines.

Gradual caseload buildup: We support you to gradually build up your caseload, ensuring sufficient time for session planning and adapting to your new role while maintaining work-life balance.

Comprehensive Orientation and Induction

Support and Supervision

At Emble, our Therapists receive comprehensive support at every stage of their career. We prioritise your well-being and professional growth, ensuring both are nurtured throughout your time with us.

We do this through:

Regular supervision with a senior Therapist (or external supervisor, paid for by us) on a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis, tailored to your experience and learning objectives.

Collaborative development of your individual Learning and Development Plan.

Access to a wealth of resources, paid subscriptions and journal articles.

Dedicated time for internal professional development every month.

Manageable Caseloads

We set realistic targets for Client Support Hours (otherwise known as KPIs) that allow ample time for session planning, progress reporting, and other administrative tasks. These targets are tailored to each staff member’s level of experience and our Therapists are empowered to progress at their own pace.

We prioritise aligning your caseload with your clinical interests, competencies, and preferences for session location, time and modality, ensuring that you have autonomy and feel fulfilled in your role.

Access to Resources

We ensure that you have everything you need to excel in your role. From therapy subscriptions to formal assessments, resources, toys, books, and more, we provide all the tools you need, eliminating the need to bring or purchase your own materials.

All staff are provided with a laptop or desktop computer and have access to our library of iPads.

You’ll have access to a dedicated therapy room, as well as opportunities to utilise our communal areas like the sensory-motor gym, meeting room, or large multipurpose room to enhance your sessions.

Professional Development

We prioritise the ongoing growth and development of our Therapists.

Each Therapist has a personalised learning and professional development plan, reviewed bi-annually. This plan informs both internal and external professional development opportunities and helps shape our clinical supervision sessions.

We offer three days of paid study leave (pro-rata) and a generous personal professional development budget.

We close our clinics for half a day every fortnight, so that all staff can participate in multi-disciplinary professional development, independent learning, case conferences or discipline-specific training. We invite external speakers/facilitators, facilitate formal training courses, and participate in webinars to enhance our skills and knowledge.

With a large team of allied health professionals all under one roof, our Therapists also benefit from incidental learning opportunities.

Commitment to Continuous Improvement

We believe in the power of collaboration and continuous improvement.

That’s why every fortnight, we dedicate half a day to team-based projects aimed at enhancing our services and supporting our community. During these sessions, our team works in small groups across 3 major project areas that help us to better deliver on our vision and mission.

This dedicated time allows us to innovate, collaborate, and make meaningful contributions to the families we serve.

Career Progression and Role Diversity

Career progression and role diversity is important. That’s why we offer a variety of career progression pathways for our staff in streams such as:

Operational and strategic management

Clinical leadership, supervision and mentoring

Program and project coordination

Our leadership roles include positions such as clinical team leaders, supporting team leaders, group therapy coordinators, therapy assistant team leaders, social and community engagement coordinators, clinical education coordinators, and more.

We also support our staff members who are interested in advancing their clinical expertise. We provide access to external supervisors, workshops, and training opportunities to enhance their knowledge and competencies in their field.

In addition to career progression, we actively seek partnerships and opportunities that add diversity to your role. This may include facilitating workshops, leading parent support programs, planning and facilitating group therapy programs, providing consultative services to other businesses and sectors and more.

Full Administration Support and Management Structure

Our skilled administration and support team handles client scheduling, billing, and all daily administrative tasks, allowing you to concentrate on your clinical work.

Backed by a strong senior management structure, including a CEO, General Manager, and Allied Health Manager, we ensure comprehensive support across all aspects of our organisation.

Our Team Culture

We prioritise team cohesion and well-being through quarterly team-building days, where we enjoy outings together, such as water park adventures and city-wide scavenger hunts.

Our supportive team culture fosters a vibrant atmosphere, enriched by our diverse clinical backgrounds, allowing you to grow into a more holistic therapist.

With high staff retention rates, annual satisfaction surveys, and open feedback channels, we continuously strive to enhance our team’s experience with us.

Working under one roof, we cultivate a sense of community, hosting seasonal events and celebrating special occasions like Easter, Christmas, and Halloween.

Our social and community engagement strategy ensures a calendar full of internal events, including Harmony Day, Pyjama Day, Book Week, and more, creating opportunities for meaningful connections and fostering a sense of community.
