We are currently seeking applications for an Assistant Director, Financial Accounting, to join the Health Financial Accounting team at The Department of Treasury & Finance for a period of up to 12 months.
Remuneration: MAS3 – Salary Range ($127,859 p.a. +11.5% Superannuation).
About the opportunity:
The Assistant Director, Financial Accounting is a senior leadership position within the Financial Accounting business unit of Shared Services SA Financial Accounting provides statutory reporting, balance sheet account reconciliation, general ledger, payroll interface, fixed asset register and rights of private practice administration services and the provision of advice thereon to a wide range of SA Government agencies.
The Assistant Director is responsible for leading the effective delivery of timely and high-quality financial accounting services to SA Government client agencies in accordance with established Service Level Determinations, performance measures, and legislative requirements.
The role will assist the Director, Financial Accounting with client engagement and relationship management, operational management and identifying and managing risks within the business.
The Assistant Director will be required to oversee business changes and continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve the quality, timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting and enhance financial management compliance.
About you
To be successful you will have:
Demonstrated experience in liaising effectively and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, to facilitate cooperation and support in achieving outcomes and to establish and maintain effective working relationships, including strong written and oral communication.
Proven experience in implementing business improvement and change management initiatives within a large and dynamic accounting environment.
Interact with client agencies and stakeholders, including the Auditor-General's Department, in a sensitive and diplomatic manner, maintaining positive relationships and building understanding.
Lead and influence programs of work associated with developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives and risk management strategies
Demonstrated experience in establishing and administering Service Level Agreements.
Proven ability to prioritise and organise work to meet deadlines, remain focused on key objectives and manage competing activities and tasks in a demanding work environment.
