Maritime Constructions is a marine contractor, uniquely capable of self-performing the full spectrum of specialised engineering disciplines to deliver complex marine infrastructure projects from design and construction through to commissioning. Projects include jetties, wharves, bulk loading facilities, dredging, reclamation, navigation aids, marinas, underwater pipelines, in Australia and internationally.
With a number of significant upcoming projects and a wide range of vessels, civil plant and machinery required on our projects, we have a vacancy for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic/Fitter who can hit the ground running and join our maintenance team based at North Arm, Gillman.

About the Role:
Duties will include general maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnoses, preventative maintenance and repairs of a variety of equipment including.
Commercial and Marine Diesel engines, transmissions, drive train components.
Dredges and equipment, Hydraulic winches, High pressure and centrifugal pumps
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Mobile/overhead cranes,
12/24v electrical systems, equipment cabs and controls.
Chassis and suspension, rims, tyres and wheels
Workboats, outboard motors, trailers.
Forklifts, Bobcats, and a variety of other Maritime Constructions services equipment.
About you:
We’re looking for a self-starting Heavy Vehicle Mechanic who’s work ethic is second to none! You are reliable, get to work on time, a team player who gets along well with others in the workshop and field. You’re also:
Self motivated with ability to work autonomously
Have excellent technical and fault finding skills
Reliable and results driven
An excellent communicator, both written and verbal
Able to work overtime as required
Able to pass full pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol screening
Technical Skills & Experience:
Trade qualifications as Heavy Vehicle Mechanic/Fitter
At least 4 years experience in construction or related field
Hydraulics experience
Commercial and Marine Diesel Engine experience
Outboard Motor experience will be advantageous
Auto electrical/Computer diagnostics knowledge will be advantageous
