About the role
As the Stores & Inventory Superintendent at Howard Porter, you will play a vital role in overseeing the efficient management of the company's warehousing, storage and distribution operations. Based in Spearwood, WA, this full-time position will see you leading a team responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, optimising warehouse workflows, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods to our customers.
What you'll be doing
Supervising and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the stores and inventory team, including warehouse staff and logistics personnel
Developing and implementing effective inventory control systems to maintain accurate records and minimise stock discrepancies
Overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and operational procedures
Analysing stock data and forecasting trends to optimise inventory levels and identify opportunities for process improvements
Collaborating with production, procurement, and sales teams to align inventory with customer demand
Ensuring the warehouse environment is well-maintained and compliant with all relevant health and safety standards
Providing training and development opportunities for the stores and inventory team to enhance their skills and productivity
What we're looking for
Significant experience (5+ years) in a stores or inventory management role, preferably within a manufacturing, logistics or distribution environment
Strong understanding of inventory control systems, warehouse operations, and distribution processes
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify opportunities for improvement
Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
A tertiary qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field would be highly regarded
