About the role
As a Tree Management Program Officer at Yarra Ranges Council, you will play a key role in protecting the iconic trees and landscapes of the Yarra Ranges. You'll support strategic planning, oversee administrative functions, and contribute to the efficient delivery of arboriculture programs. This is your opportunity to lead, innovate, and help shape the future of tree management across our community.
This is a full-time permanent position (38 hours per week).
This is a Band 6 role with a salary range between $95,565 and $104,167 per annum, plus superannuation.
Support work-life balance with a fortnightly or monthly rostered day off.
Experience and skills we’re looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated experience providing high-level administrative and technical support in arboricultural and/or horticultural operations.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage schedules, projects, and competing priorities effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, meeting coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
Proficiency in managing data and systems, particularly related to tree management tools such as TreePlotter.
Experience in financial and contract administration, including processing purchase orders, tracking budgets, and supporting procurement.
Strong collaborative mindset, with the ability to work across teams and represent the Tree Management team in internal and external forums.
Ability to identify and implement process improvements, driving innovation in workflows and aligning with digital strategies.
