HV Operators – Macintyre Wind Farm

The Role

As an HV Operator, you will work at the Macintyre Wind Farm, located 50 km south-west of Warwick and 10 km south of Karara, QLD. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining high voltage equipment and MV lines at Macintyre substations. Reporting to the Site Works Supervisor, you’ll support safe and efficient project delivery and system performance.

Key Responsibilities

Operate HV equipment in accordance with safety standards and policies.

Ensure compliance with General Safety Standards and QSE requirements among subcontractors.

Assist in planning and performing maintenance on HV/MV lines and substations.

Support equipment contingency planning and inventory management.

Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and suppliers to maximize equipment performance.

Review and contribute to updates of HV procedures, SWMS, and Switching Instructions.

Share HV knowledge and mentor site HV team members.

About You

Appropriate trade certificate in Electrical discipline

Current HV Switching qualifications

Current GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) certification, or willing to obtain

Valid QLD "A Grade" Electrical Licence

Valid manual vehicle driver's licence

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Willingness to travel to Wind Farms across Australia and comply with project safety systems

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Mandatory Compliance Requirements

Proof of Right to Work is Required. Only Australian or New Zealand citizens or individuals holding a valid Australian work visa are eligible for this role. This is a legal requirement under the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) Act 2018, as the wind farm is classified under “critical infrastructure – Energy.”

In compliance with the SOCI Act 2018, this role is defined as critical worker and labelled at ACCIONA Energia as a Privileged Access Worker (PAW). Privileged Access Workers (PAWs) are required to obtain satisfactory results from Acciona's Suitability Assessment prior to commencement. This forms part of our standard pre-employment checks.

National Police Check is required. Note: Police checks older than three months or obtained via other providers will not be accepted.

Residency Requirement

Applicants must live within 3 hours driving distance of Warwick, QLD and must be based in Australia.
