About the role

Yering Station, a leading winery and restaurant in the heart of the Yarra Valley, is seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join their team. As the Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant, providing exceptional customer service and leading a team of talented hospitality professionals. This full-time position is based in the picturesque town of Yarra Glen, VIC 3775.

What you'll be doing

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of service and customer satisfaction

Effectively manage and lead a team of waitstaff, providing training, mentoring, and performance feedback

Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and operational strategies to improve efficiency and customer experience

Monitor and control costs, inventory, and resource allocation to ensure the profitability of the restaurant

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and a commitment to excellence

Liaise with the kitchen team, event managers, and other departments to coordinate service and ensure a seamless dining experience

Handle customer inquiries, reservations, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner

What we're looking for

Experience in a similar restaurant supervisor or floor leadership role, preferably in a high-end establishment

Proven track record of leading and motivating a team of hospitality professionals, with a focus on training and development

Excellent customer service skills and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences

Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution abilities

Proficient in inventory management and cost control

Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage service, wine pairing, and industry best practices

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders

Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment
