About the role

As the Assistant Restaurant Manager at Stella's Kitchen in Narre Warren North, VIC, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of this highly regarded, award-winning restaurant. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and managing director, you will help to ensure the smooth running of all front-of-house activities and contribute to creating an exceptional dining experience for our customers.

What you'll be doing

Assist the Restaurant Manager in leading and motivating the front-of-house team to deliver outstanding customer service

Oversee the efficient operation of the dining room, including table management, reservations, and customer relations & bar

Monitor and optimise staff scheduling and rostering to ensure appropriate coverage during peak periods

Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback, and work to resolve any issues promptly and professionally

Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations

Assist with inventory management and stock control to minimise wastage and optimise profitability

Support the Restaurant Manager in strategic planning and the implementation of new initiatives to drive the business forward

What we're looking for

Significant experience (3+ years) in a front-of-house or assistant management role within a high-quality restaurant or hospitality environment

Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team

Strong customer service orientation and the ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy

Keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation

Sound financial acumen and experience in inventory management and cost control

Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise with customers and stakeholders at all levels
