Job Title: Business Analyst – Energy Sector (SCADA & PI Historian Focus)
Location: Melbourne highly preferred.
Work Type: 12 month contract (Big projects)
Salary: $925 per day including super + GST

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse, document, and communicate business and technical requirements related to Control Room systems, Energy Management Systems (EMS), and real-time grid operations
• Conduct in-depth Proof of Concept (PoC) analysis to validate system enhancements and new technologies
• Work closely with SCADA engineers and operators to gather and analyse system requirements
• Leverage PI Historian or Aveva data systems to support performance analysis and reporting*
• Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications, process models, and user stories
• Support system integration initiatives with a strong focus on SCADA and EMS interfaces*
• Evaluate, document, and improve processes relating to the management of real-time grid systems and energy network models
• Prepare high-quality documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Operations, Engineering, and Vendors

Skills and Experience Essential:

• Demonstrated experience with SCADA systems in a business or technical analysis capacity*
• Proficiency with PI Historian or Aveva data systems for operational and historical data management*
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Proven experience conducting Proof of Concept (PoC) studies and evaluating outcomes
• Understanding of energy network models, load flows, and the operational challenges in real-time grid systems

Desirable:

• Experience within the energy sector or utilities
• Familiarity with Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Control Room environments
• Exposure to grid control protocols, telemetry, or dispatch processes
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, IT, Business, or a related field
