We are seeking passionate and dedicated Occupational & Speech Therapist's to join our East Melbourne clinic. The role involves delivering OT & Speech services to children and adolescent clients with neurodiverse conditions and functional capacity challenges. By providing comprehensive therapy services in both community and clinical environments, you can boost independence and improve the quality of life for these clients and their families.

As a registered Occupational Therapist at Nexia Healthcare, your key responsibilities include:
Occupational/Speech Therapy and Cognitive Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments, including functional, home modifications, assistive technology, and cognitive evaluations, and develop individualized treatment plans for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Parent Partnership: Work with parents and caregivers or to identify emotional, social, or physical obstacles, and gain insight into family dynamics and the home environment. Provide home programs and self-management training to families.
Educators Partnerships: Provide direct support to educators, equipping them with the skills and strategies needed to assist children requiring additional attention. This includes professional development sessions and practical guidance to foster effective learning environments.
Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Early Childhood Education Specialists, Speech Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Allied Health Assistants, to deliver an integrated approach tailored to each individual and their family’s goals for independence in school, community, and home settings. Collaboration with childcare centres across Australia, designing early intervention programs dedicated to neurodiverse children. Engage in case conferences and team meetings to discuss progress and outcomes.
Reports and Documentation: Deliver timely and high-quality reports, accurate documentation of care, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Evidence-Based Practice: Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions and strategies, including creating tailored intervention plans, recommending adaptive equipment, enhancing self-care skills, and providing expertise in home and environment modifications. Monitor and evaluate the child’s progress through both formal and informal assessments.
Compliance and Ethics: Maintain high standards of ethical practice, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and professional guidelines.

Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking motivated and empathetic Occupational/Speech Therapist's with:
Proven experience working with children and adolescents, particularly in a mental health or neurodevelopmental context.
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in delivering evidence-based interventions tailored to clients' needs
Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
A passion for supporting families and caregivers throughout the diagnosis process.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in occupational therapy.
Current registration with AHPRA.
A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role or demonstrated ability to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
NDIS workers screening test, National Police Check, Working with Children Check (WWC).
Right to Work in Australia (e.g., Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Visa holder with full working rights).
