Paralegal | Corporate Advisory Team | Melbourne
Our client, a highly respected and market-leading law firm, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their corporate advisory team as an administrative legal support professional. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with previous experience in a legal or professional services setting who are ready to advance their career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy.
- Registration of public, proprietary & foreign companies.
- Familiar with companies' requirements under the Corporations Act 2001.
- Drafting documents to effect changes to companies, directors, issue and transfer of shares, share buy-backs, application of class orders, change of name and change of company type and deregistration.
- Drafting AGM and board of directors minutes.
- Registration of business names.
- Familiar with ASIC and ASIC Regulatory Portal lodgements.
- Manage high work volume while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Work autonomously while also engaging in team discussions and collaborating with a small team.
- Ensure all tasks are completed with a high attention to detail.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a law or professional services environment (banking, company secretarial teams, etc.)
- This role is not a path to becoming a lawyer but more ideal for those looking for a challenging career step without the intention of practising law.
- Prior knowledge of ASIC portal or lodgement processes.
- Excellent analytical, communication and research skills are required.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and competing deadlines.
