About the role

Herston Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Theatre Technician/Orderly to join our dedicated theatre team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing essential support to our theatre staff, ensuring the smooth running of our operating theatres and delivering high-quality patient care.

What you'll be doing

Preparing and maintaining operating theatre environments, including setting up the theatre and necessary equipment

Assisting with the transportation and positioning of patients before, during and after surgical procedures

Providing support to the surgical team during operations

Ensuring the safe disposal of clinical waste and the proper maintenance of theatre stock and supplies

Adhering to all relevant health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a sterile and secure theatre environment

Undertaking general porter duties as required, such as transporting patients and equipment

What we're looking for

Relevant experience working as an Operating Theatre Technician, Orderly or similar role within a healthcare setting

A strong understanding of theatre protocols, aseptic fields and infection control practices

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the wider theatre team

A commitment to delivering the highest standards of patient care and customer service

The physical fitness and stamina to undertake physically demanding duties
