What be you’ll doing?
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of high-quality library services by fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and customer first thinking
- Proactively identify and resolve service-related issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions that uphold community satisfaction and organisational standards
- Monitor operational challenges, escalate concerns where necessary, and implement strategic responses to maintain seamless day to day operations
- Mentor, coach and support team members to build capability, encourage professional growth, and ensure consistent performance aligned with Waverley Council’s values.
- Work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to align event and engagement initiatives with broader community goals and Council priorities
- Track team performance, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to the development and implementation of staff training and development plans.
What you’ll bring?
- Tertiary qualification in Library and Information Studies or other relevant area of study/experience.
- 1-2 years’ experience in, budget management, project management and staff supervision, with proven capacity to lead and develop staff within a library environment. Demonstrated experience in event management/community engagement.
- Strong technical skills and a high level of digital literacy.
- Proven ability to embrace change and engage, lead and inspire others to achieve outcomes for the benefit of the organisation and community.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to deal with difficult customers.
- Proven experience in delivering quality customer service and a positive, professional and cooperative approach to working with others.
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills with a flexible approach to work and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals and organisations.
- Current Working with Children Check.
