About the Role:

We are currently looking for experienced Veterinary Nurses to join our awesome team of dedicated and driven Vets and Nurses. The role offers great exposure if you are looking for a diverse role which incluses a mix of surgery, consult and general veterinary nursing. We pride ourselves in supporting and elevating our nurses to be the best they can be by giving them access to the full spectrum of nursing duties as well as continuing professional development. Our vet nurse development ethos is to provide the opportunity for our nurses to become as well rounded, competent and confident so that our vets are better supported.

The position requires fulfilling the following duties but not limited to:

- Providing support to our veterinarians and patients in all aspects of veterinary nursing including surgical prep, anaesthetic monitoring, blood draws, IV catheter placement, running in-house blood, and hospital monitoring.

- Admitting patients for surgical or medical procedures (including emergencies), supporting Vets in clinical examinations, blood collection, catheter and intravenous fluid placement, laboratory testing, and preparing animals for surgical procedures.

- Assisting Vets to administer anaesthetics and oxygen during operations.

- Support vets in surgery, conducting anaesthetics and monitoring during surgeries.

- Supporting vets in treating medical cases and helping in consults.

- Assisting vets with radiographs & ultrasounds.

- Monitoring observations, instrument cleaning and sterilising, and theatre preparation.

- Feeding, medicating & providing general care for dogs, cats, pocket pets, birds, exotics & wildlife.

- General reception duties of attending to clients and

- Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organisation around the hospital

Successful candidate qualities:

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (completed or in progress) or equivalent
• A minimum of 2 years working as a full-time veterinary nurse
• Excellent customer service skills for all client-facing activities
• Enjoy working in a team environment where mutual respect for all is highly valued
• A willingness to learn and improve their skills
