About the Opportunity:
Growth in our Diverse Learning Team in Primary means the team at John Paul College are seeking a passionate and dedicated Diverse Learning Teacher to join our Primary School team.
A Diverse Learning Teacher at JPC plays key role in ensuring that all students, including those for whom English is an additional language or dialect (EAL/D), have access to high-quality, differentiated teaching and are supported to achieve their full potential.
This six‑month opportunity includes potential to extend into 2026 for a driven candidate ready to excel and work with us long term.
This role will work collaboratively with year-level teams and specialist staff to foster an inclusive learning environment and deliver targeted interventions that meet the individual needs of students.
They will also be required to:
Work collegially with the Head of Primary School, Deans, Diverse Learning Leader and key liaisons.
Stay up to date with current research and pedagogical practice and actively model and promote best teaching and leadership practice in EALD education.
Lead and support colleagues in their endeavours to promote the learning and achievement of EALD students at John Paul College.
Work proactively with key stakeholders in the Primary School to support students and staff.
Model the John Paul College Values of mutual respect, integrity, compassion and excellence.
Lead and co-ordinate appropriate assessment
Work with Teachers to develop staff capacity for supporting student needs.
Undertake other reasonable and relevant duties within skills, knowledge, and capabilities as directed by the Principal or their representative.
Support colleagues in their endeavours to promote learning and achievement of students at John Paul College.
Model the John Paul College Values of mutual respect, integrity, compassion and excellence.

About You:
Primary School Diverse Learning Teachers at JPC play integral part in the College’s Diverse Learning Program.
They are individuals who are committed to maintaining a spirit and character that is supportive and recognises the worth of each student as an individual in accordance with the College Ethos.
Our ideal candidate will have well developed interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to consult, negotiate, interact with staff, students and parents or other stakeholders.
You will also be able to demonstrate
A personalised and collaborative approach to curriculum development
Extensive knowledge of Primary School Diverse Learning which incorporates research-based teaching strategies, recognising how students learn best, supporting intellectual engagement and deepening student learning
Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
Previous experience in a similar role including a demonstrated ability to consult, negotiate, interact with staff, students and parents or other stakeholders.
Effective organisational and management skills and competent use of ICT in classroom practice
Current QTC Registration including a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
