Good to Great Schools Australia (GGSA) supports schools on their school improvement journey. The organisation is assisting schools with their recruitment needs to support remote Indigenous schools.
What we offer
As the teacher, you will have access to our Mastery Teaching Pathway (MTP), a unique professional learning platform that provides certified school improvement training and coaching to school leaders, coaches, teachers and teaching assistants. It links to the Australian National Leadership and Teaching Professional (AITSL) leadership and teaching standards.
The learning you do will enable you to practice effective teaching that you can apply to any pedagogy, curriculum or education program in any classroom in any Australian school. This enables effective teaching, which in turn leads to improved educational outcomes for students.
Your role
You will have responsibility for delivery of the following key tasks:
Participate in weekly school professional learning to learn about relevant programs and develop teaching to mastery.
Plan and deliver evidence-based programs within the scheduled time using effective teaching techniques.
Run a well-organised classroom that promotes student engagement and positive high expectations.
Participate and coaching to regularly review develop your effectiveness of your teaching.
Routinely assess students development, attainment and behaviour, and maintain records for feedback and reporting.
Communicate and co-operate effectively with colleagues and.
Participate in lesson practices and school professional meetings and conversations.
Drive family and community engagement and communicate with parents to help them better support their child’s learning opportunities.
Establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, students and families in the interests and wellbeing of the school community.
Qualifications
Mandatory:
Primary teaching or primary education degree or diploma.
Successfully complete the Introduction to Effective Instruction training.
Attendance at a teacher recruitment virtual workshop program.
Must have or be able to obtain professional membership with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
Desirable:
Tertiary qualification in Music, Art, Science or any other subject-related area.

Demonstrated knowledge (Graduate) and ability (Experienced teacher):
Demonstrated knowledge/ability to embrace regular professional learning to learn about relevant programs and develop teaching to mastery.
Demonstrated knowledge/ability to plan and deliver evidence-based programs within the scheduled time using effective teaching techniques.
Demonstrated knowledge/ability to run a well-organised classroom that promotes student engagement and positive high expectations.
Demonstrated knowledge/ability to receive in classroom coaching and regularly review develop your effectiveness of your teaching.
Demonstrated knowledge of/ability to routinely assess students development, attainment and behaviour, and maintain records for feedback and reporting.
Demonstrated knowledge of/ability to communicate and co-operate effectively with colleagues to improve teaching and learning.
Demonstrated knowledge of/ability to participate in practicing lessons prior to delivery, and participating in school professional meetings and holding conversation about own teaching practice and student needs.
Demonstrated knowledge of/ability to get involved in family and community engagement and communicate with parents to help them better support their child’s learning opportunities.
Demonstrated knowledge of/ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, students and families in the interests and wellbeing of the school community
Desirable:
Willingness to volunteer to get involved in local school and activities as a member of the school community.
Willingness to volunteer to support children after school and on weekends to share skills and hobbies and encourage student participation.
Willingness to learn about and engage with local families in their cultures and/or environments.
Willingness to seek out parents and advise them of ways they can support their children’s education and carry out activities with them that support their children.
