The Civil Maintenance team is looking for a skilled backhoe operator to assist our drainage and unsealed road team with delivering our works maintenance programs. You will be self-motivated, like keeping busy, willing to try something new and be part of a dynamic team that are working towards a new way of delivering civil maintenance work, refining and developing works programs.

About the Position

Reporting to the Team Coordinator you will be responsible for the undertaking of a broad range of civil maintenance works on council owned assets including but not limited to sealed and unsealed road maintenance, above and underground drainage systems, water retention and cleansing systems and foreshore maintenance.

About You

The successful candidate will have a clear understanding of Civil Maintenance related projects with the ability to mentor and assist others in delivering programs. You will possess broad experience within the civil industry, with excellent customer service skills and the capability to prioritise demanding workloads.

Being a team player with good interpersonal skills, coupled with an ability to influence people by challenging the way things are done and leading by example, will be essential for your success in this role.

Key Selection Criteria:

• Current Class C Driver’s License
• Truck License – HR
• White card and WZTM
• Certificate III in Civil Construction or minimum of three years’ experience in Civil Maintenance/Construction activities
