My client is a leading manufacturer in the concrete pump industry, renowned for its innovative solutions and high-quality equipment. They are currently seeking a skilled Boilermaker with mechanical aptitude to join their production team in Altona. This role is crucial for ensuring the fabrication, fitting, testing, and quality control of our concrete pumps and related equipment.

Your new role
As a Fitter / Welder, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support the production of concrete pumps and related equipment. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Fabrication (50%): Perform cutting, drilling, welding, and painting tasks.
• Quality Control (15%): Inspect vehicles/equipment, record faults, and resolve issues.
• Fit-out (25%): Ensure parts availability, fit options/changes, support team members, and complete checklists.
• General (10%): Maintain safety, cleanliness, documentation, and participate in improvements

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualifications: Driver's license, cert 3 or 4 in engineering fabrication (essential); high-level welding qualifications advantageous, forklift license (desirable)
• Experience: Similar industry experience in a heavy workshop environment working with trucks, cranes or EWP systems. Concrete pump experience highly considered. Must have strong mechanical aptitude and fitting knowledge. Must be able to vertically mig weld.
• Skills: Commitment, willingness to learn, attention to detail, communication, organization, hand/power tool skills. ERP system experience is a plus.
