2 x ENT Unaccredited Registrar opportunities starting February 2026

Participate in ENT duties under Specialist Surgeons supervision.

Eligible for appropriate registration with the Medical Board of Australia.

Expand your professional expertise under the supervision of specialist ENT surgeons for 12-months at unaccredited registrar level starting February 2026.

Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospital is the principle tertiary hospital within the region and provides a broad range of referral services in all specialist areas to Darwin, the Top End of the NT, Western Australia and South-East Asia.

Under the direction of Dr Suresh Mahendran, Dr Neil Thomson and Visiting Specialists, the Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic delivers high-quality services to patients at the Royal Darwin and Palmerston Regional Hospitals providing contemporary care and state-of-the-art facilities, including Microscopy, Endoscopy and Stroboscopy.

Currently, the clinic is inviting Unaccredited Registrars and aspiring ENT Doctors to apply for a 12-month program starting in February 2026.

Working alongside specialist ENT surgeons you will have the opportunity to develop your specialist skills through hands-on learning opportunities and servicing patients in the Outpatients Department and Operating Theatre.

Your key duties will include the admission, management and discharge of patients, participation in operations in theatre and clinical service visits to Aboriginal patients in remote communities. In addition, you will have the opportunity to conduct research, peer review practices and Continued Medical Education, and provide supervision to appropriate medical, nursing, allied medical and medical students.

To be successful you are required to be eligible for appropriate registration with the Medical Board of Australia, have relevant training and experience applicable to ENT, and can demonstrate surgical competency, research capability and a commitment to delivering high-quality care to patients.
