Join Capital Linen Service (CLS), a commercial business unit of Transport Canberra and City Services, and lead the transformation of one of Canberra’s essential service providers.

As the Director of Operations, you’ll oversee the end-to-end operations of CLS’s industrial laundry facility, including production, maintenance, logistics, and distribution. You’ll lead a dedicated team and play a key role in strategic planning, asset management, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do:

Lead and coordinate production, maintenance, and logistics operations

Drive operational efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction

Develop strategic plans, budgets, and asset management frameworks

Analyse data to optimise workflow and reduce bottlenecks

Ensure compliance with health and safety standards

What You’ll Bring:

Proven experience in operations management, preferably in an industrial or production environment

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

Mechanical aptitude and ability to manage complex workflows

Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and asset lifecycle management

A current Australian Class C driver’s licence

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

A minimum of five years’ experience in Operations Management in an industrial setting is highly desirable

Driver’s licence (C class) is essential.

Experienced user of Microsoft Office Programs

This position requires a pre-employment medical, and police check but does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.

Visa holders are eligible to apply for both permanent and temporary roles. Those with eligible visas may be considered for permanent employment, while individuals with temporary residency or limited-duration visas may be offered permanent employment for the duration of their visas.

Note: This is a temporary position available immediately until 31 December 2025, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
