The Role

We have an exciting casual position available to deliver First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) at TAFE Queensland’s Western Queensland locations such as Charleville, Roma and surrounding communities.

As a TAFE Teacher in Health delivery team, you have the opportunity to influence the careers of future industry persons by sharing your extensive industry knowledge to students in a classroom or other educational setting.

This position reports to the Western Queensland Manager.

Salary

The gross hourly rate per hour for a casual teacher is $111.42 (TAFE Queensland Educators Certified Agreement 2023).

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation;
  • HLTAID011 - First Aid;
  • HLTAID012 - First Aid in an education and care setting;
  • HLTAID013 – Provide First Aid in remote or isolated site;
  • HLTAID014 – Provide Advances First Aid;
  • HLTAID015 – Provide advances resuscitation and oxygen therapy, and the following:
  • current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
  • current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
  • evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment;
  • current Queensland Driver’s licence.

Additionally, to become a TAFE Teacher, you must hold one of the following training and assessment credentials:

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
  • TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills (or TAELLN401A) and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools (or TAESS502A or TAEASS502B); or
  • TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or
  • TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor; or
  • TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development; or
  • TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development or its successor; or
  • A higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).

Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.

Highly Desirable

Candidates who possess the following will be highly regarded:

  • UETDRMP007 – Perform Rescue from a Live Low Voltage (LV) Panel;
  • High level of digital literacy skills across various platforms (online Learning Management Systems).
