Are you a Mental Health Clinician looking for a change or want to obtain some clinical experience in the community setting? St George Community Mental Health are looking for an experienced, motivated and passionate mental health clinician to work as part of a well-established, contemporary multidisciplinary team. Sound Like you?

The CMH Clinician will provide comprehensive strengths based and recovery focused assessments with consumers and the formulation of time limited packages of care signed off by consumers and their care givers. These packages will detail the clinical mental health services and other wraparound supports to be provided.

They will provide high quality evidence based clinical services including assessment, care co-ordination, intervention, liaison and review as part of a multidisciplinary team for adults referred to the service with a mental illness or disorder.

Selection criteria:

1. Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligible for membership with AASW. Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy or Psychology (with a minimum four-year degree with a major in Psychology and registration with the Psychologists Board of Australia) and registered with AHPRA .Registered nurse with current registration with AHPRA.
2. Demonstrated core competency skills in Mental Health interventions in the Community and experience in providing comprehensive mental health assessments, risk assessment, safety planning and the provision of collaborative care and discharge planning.
3. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery.
4. Demonstrated experience working with people with an acute mental illness or disorder.
5. Demonstrated experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters, commensurate with years of experience.
6. Demonstrated computer skills and the capacity to use health information systems.
7. Understanding and knowledge of mental health principles of consumer focused and strengths-based practices in acute community mental health setting.
8. Current unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence.
