The Dinner Ladies are seeking a talented Developer to join our innovative IT department. You will be instrumental in creating efficient, scalable, and maintainable systems for our home food delivery service, which delivers delicious frozen meals directly to customers’ doors. This role is ideally suited for someone who enjoys tackling complex challenges, writing clean code, and delivering tangible business outcomes.

About the Role:

As a Developer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to build dynamic, responsive user interfaces and robust backend solutions. Your work will support our integration with Shopify via a custom theme, utilising technologies such as React, Node.js, Python, and Azure SQL. This is your chance to immerse yourself in real-world projects, with opportunities for mentorship and professional growth.

What You’ll Do:

Front-End Development:

Build dynamic, responsive user interfaces using React, HTML, and CSS.

Collaborate with designers to create intuitive and user-friendly experiences.

Back-End Development:

Write clean, efficient APIs and backend logic using Node.js and Python.

Handle integrations with Shopify and other internal tools.

Cloud Infrastructure (Azure):

Deploy and manage applications using Azure services, including App Services, Functions, and DevOps pipelines.

Ensure stability, scalability, and performance in the cloud.

Database Management (Azure SQL):

Write, optimize, and manage SQL queries to support features and analytics.

Maintain data integrity, performance, and security.

Problem Solving & Logical Thinking:

Analyse technical challenges and develop scalable solutions.

Apply structured, logical approaches to debugging and system design.

Team Collaboration:

Participate in agile development processes, code reviews, and team planning.

Share knowledge and collaborate with product, design, and marketing teams.

What We’re Looking For:

Professional full-stack development experience.

Strong proficiency in JavaScript and React for front-end development.

Hands-on experience with Liquit and Python in production environments.

Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services and infrastructure.

Solid understanding of relational databases, preferably Azure SQL.

Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.

Bonus Points For:

Experience with headless commerce using Shopify with a custom front-end via Next.js.

Familiarity with serverless functions or cloud platforms.

Interest in performance optimization and site reliability.
