In this role, you will apply expert scientific knowledge to supervise, evaluate and control the scientific and technical operations of the Special Coagulation work unit, ensuring an efficient and highest quality service. This involves the ongoing competency and leadership of staff that work within the Special Coagulation work unit.
The Supervising Scientist Coagulation will be expected to apply your high level operational and strategic managerial knowledge and skills to meet organisational objectives and exceed client expectations. This position has a strong statewide focus for coagulation services and works positively and proactively with other haematology supervising scientists across the state.
About you
We are searching for someone with:
- Demonstrated expert level knowledge, expertise, skills and scientific judgement in coagulation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the human, physical and financial resources of a special coagulation work unit.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member, cooperating and communicating effectively with those in the immediate work situation as well as the wider work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the quality of clinical practice within coagulation, to ensure the maintenance of relevant legislative, administrative and professional standards and to meet NATA/ISO/TGA accreditation/certification requirements.
- Demonstrated active leadership in the development of improvement initiatives, provision of strategic advice, contribution to the development of professional standards, scientific practices, procedures, protocols and professional competence in coagulation at a state level
The successful applicant must hold a Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) degree, or an equivalent degree qualification.
