About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team on a contract basis in Darwin, Northern Territory. As a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a diverse range of heavy machinery and equipment used in the mining industry. This is a critical role that will contribute to the efficient and reliable operation of our client's mining operations.

Locations:

The Granites- Tanami Gold Mine -

2 & 1 Roster - Day Shift ONLY- FIFO from Darwin OR Perth only.

Gulf of Carpentaria- Highway Upgrades

2 & 1 Roster - Local NT residents only as this is a drive in drive out position.

Day Shift ONLY

What you'll be doing

Perform routine maintenance and servicing on heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers, and other mining equipment

Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy-duty diesel equipment

Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work carried out

Collaborate with the wider maintenance team to ensure a coordinated approach to equipment upkeep

Comply with all relevant safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment

What we're looking for

Formal trade qualification in Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics or equivalent

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a mining or heavy industry setting

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to effectively troubleshoot and repair complex equipment

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently

Excellent communication skills to liaise with operators, supervisors, and the wider maintenance team

Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all safety protocols
