Your role will entail but may not be limited to the following objectives:

Accomplishes construction human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.

Manages sub-contractors by locating, evaluating, and selecting sub-contractors; monitoring and controlling performance.

Manage suppliers by coordinating the purchase of and maintaining the stock level of materials and consumables for use on project sites as required

Maintain the site factory and the plant and equipment that is shed there, including booking regular maintenance of the equipment as well as ensuring the electrical compliance of any equipment (test and tag). Ensure that plant, equipment and materials are adequately allocated to projects, this may mean setting up jobs and/or delivering these to sites when required.

Meets operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements. In regards to JGID System, need to ensure that the calendar /scheduling as well as the unbillable times for anybody taking time off is updated daily.

Maintain user/staff information including setting up qualifications and personal information within JGID for our staff

Meets construction budget by monitoring project expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions; providing non-project annual operating and capital budget information.

Ensure that all day labour sheets completed using JGID or manually are constantly being updated and submitted to the office.

Accomplishes construction project results by defining project purpose and scope; calculating resources required; establishing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change orders.

Monitor construction projects by conducting inspections at critical phases particularly for safety.

Prevents fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes. This is particularly important for managing permits required for occupation of footpaths when doing works in public spaces.

Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.

Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging construction practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Ensure that training for all staff is updated and continually managed so that staff members can be upskilled as well as current qualifications are being maintained.

Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Complete the hiring and firing of on-site staff personnel, including performance managing staff that are non-compliant.
