Senior HVAC Install Technician - Multipule roles

About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Senior HVAC Install Technician to take a leadership role within our installation department at Air-Rite Mechanical Services in Brisbane. In this hands-on position, you’ll be leading our installation team on-site, working across a variety of commercial and industrial projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior HVAC Install Technician, you will:

Lead a team of HVAC installers on-site, providing mentorship and direction to ensure high-quality workmanship

Perform and oversee the installation of HVAC systems on new construction projects, including multi-residential buildings, commercial offices, industrial facilities, and educational institutions

Install and set up a range of systems, including:

Standalone VRF/VRV systems

Packaged rooftop units

Ducted split systems

Carry out mechanical service installations, including:

Copper refrigeration pipework

Sheet metal and flex ductwork

Grilles, diffusers, and mechanical ventilation components

Conduct system commissioning and testing, ensuring proper operation and compliance with specifications

Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution

Ensure adherence to safety standards and compliance with industry regulations

Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices

Maintain accurate job records, installation reports, and commissioning documents

Stay current with evolving HVAC technologies, products, and industry best practices

Represent Air-Rite on-site with professionalism and deliver excellent customer service to clients and stakeholders

What We're Looking For

Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (or equivalent)

Current Refrigerant Handling Licence and Construction White Card

Must have the legal right to work in Australia (citizenship, permanent residency, or appropriate visa)

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior or Leading Hand HVAC Technician in a commercial setting

Strong leadership skills and the ability to guide and manage small teams on-site

Proven experience in complex HVAC installations and system commissioning

Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills

Outstanding customer service and communication abilities

Valid manual driver’s licence

High level of safety awareness and commitment to WHS standards
